We made it back to Ulaanbataar in one piece, though it might have been a close call. There were more and more suspicious sounds coming from beneath the car and after half the trip it felt as if the gear box or drive chain was about to give up – the car jerked when we tried to accelerate. And when we approached 70 km/h the car started rocking violently sideways. To qoute Byamba when we finally met Bayara in UB “almost all the parts underneath the car is broken or gone”..
I have been in Sweden for ten days now and it feels great to be back. Took a while for my stomach to adapt to the “new” food and for me to adapt to civilisation.
I will return to Mongolia in late September, until then I will probably not write anything here. I will upload photos though, keep an eye out for those.
